Low-Code/No-Code
What does low code mean?
Low-code is an approach to software development that uses a visual, graphical interface to configure applications using intuitive, pre-written blocks of code that are assembled as drag-and-drop components. Low-code development eliminates the need to write new code, thus speeding development of new applications. Using the low-code approach, non-technical staff and skilled developers can work together to build web and mobile applications quickly. Low code development allows an application to be assembled nearly entirely with drag-and-drop components, while also accommodating customized development.
What does no-code mean?
No-code is an approach to software development that uses a visual, graphical interface to configure applications using intuitive, pre-written blocks of code that are assembled as drag-and-drop components. No-code development is intended for individuals who have no prior experience with software development and allows them to build business and mobile applications entirely by drag-and-drop assembly.
Low code vs. no code?
The primary difference between low-code and no-code software development is the option—and in some cases requirement—for an element of customization with low code development.
There are security concerns associated with applications built using either approach. However, if the underlying code blocks have been properly tested and validated, the advantage is minimizing the risk of human error associated with writing customized code.
