ScienceLogic CEO, Dave Link, Wins MeriTalk Cyber Defenders Award

Congratulations to Dave Link, CEO and founder of ScienceLogic for being named a 2024 MeriTalk Cyber Defender!

Each year, MeriTalk celebrates outstanding leadership in cyber innovation within the federal government IT community. The prestigious Cyber Defenders Awards honor government and industry individuals who are at the forefront of safeguarding government systems from complex cyber-attacks, leading cyber modernization progress, and driving our nation’s cybersecurity.

Dave has been instrumental in driving ScienceLogic’s commitment to the public sector, enabling digital transformation and innovation with AIOps and Autonomic IT while helping to ensure mission readiness and operational resiliency for key government agencies.

Dave’s strong leadership in federal cyber innovation is exemplified by the following initiatives and achievements:

Enhancing Fourth Estate Initiatives

Dave’s strategic efforts have empowered ScienceLogic to enhance Fourth Estate agency initiatives, modernize observability for the warfighter, enable strategic command and control at the tactical edge, and enhance agency risk management framework strategies.

A fundamental principle of cybersecurity is, “you can’t protect what you can’t see,” however, “you can’t protect what you don’t understand,” may be more fitting. One of the major challenges in building a secure federal IT infrastructure is not only identifying the agency’s assets, but also the data they handle and their significance to the mission.

It’s vital for agencies to develop and maintain a holistic understanding of these elements to go beyond the core cybersecurity technologies for effective risk management and cybersecurity at the highest attainable level.

Dave’s visionary approach to improving service visibility and automating IT workflows makes this possible.

For example, Dave guides clients on how they can use the ScienceLogic SL1 platform to fuse data from across IT operations and uncover a real-time, unified view of all IT resources whether on-prem, in the cloud, or in hybrid environments – so that IT and agency leaders can understand what assets they have, how important they are, and manage risk accordingly. With the SL1 platform, IT efficiency increases through tools consolidation and IT workflow automation for repetitive and programmatic processes and, ultimately, faster delivery of secure shared services.

Forging a Path to FedRAMP Authorization

Dave’s continuous investments have positioned ScienceLogic as “FedRAMP ready,” in preparation to pursue the certification. Once FedRAMP certified, ScienceLogic will be able to streamline the deliver its intelligent, autonomic IT operations to an even wider range of mission-critical infrastructure in support of government customers across the globe.

A DoDIN Industry First

Under Dave’s visionary leadership, the SL1 platform has also achieved the DoD Information Network (DoDIN) certification, making it the industry’s first end-to-end monitoring platform to conform to the U.S. Government’s security and operability standards, and be listed on the DoDIN Approved Products List (APL).  The certification streamlines the approval and deployment of the secure-by-design SL1 platform across defense agencies.

Dave also spearheaded recent architectural updates to the SL1 platform to enhance its DoDIN certifications further, enabling continued support for initiatives like biometric monitoring for a DoD agency.

Enhancing a Federal Healthcare Provider’s Cloud-First Strategy While Reducing Complexity and Risk

Dave’s leadership is vital to ScienceLogic’s relationship with a large federal healthcare provider, establishing it as one of the most forward-leaning agencies in cloud migration and ongoing operational service delivery excellence. In 2023, ScienceLogic helped enhance the agency’s observability for approximately 2,100 sites nationwide, while supporting real-time operationalization to migrate 300+ applications to a secure cloud environment.

Under his strategic leadership, ScienceLogic has empowered defense agencies to manage mission-critical services, gain visibility into their health, achieve efficiencies through tool consolidation and IT workflow automation, and enable faster delivery of secure shared services.

The SL1 platform provides a real-time, unified view of all DoD IT resources whether on-prem, in the cloud, or in hybrid environments. Executive dashboards give leadership visibility into the health of mission-critical services, and IT gains while enabling faster delivery of secure shared services.

Advancing the Federal Mission with ScienceLogic

Overseen by Dave’s expertise, ScienceLogic is committed to continuing to advance the federal government’s digital transformation strategy while empowering agencies to navigate the complexities, volume of operational data, rate of change, and security vulnerabilities the government’s technological evolution brings.
