What is real-time monitoring?

Real-time monitoring is the process of watching machine data streaming within a network as it is happening (or with extremely low latency) in order to evaluate the state of operations or identify problem events that arise.

Why is real-time monitoring important?

Monitoring network operations in real time allows IT management to ensure that problems are addressed and resolved as fast as possible, and to make whatever adjustments are needed to ensure system and services reliability. Real-time monitoring enables you to detect, isolate and diagnose, correlate, restore, and resolve incidents as fast as possible.
