What you’ll be doing…

We empower our product teams to solve hard problems – customer problems and business problems – in ways that our customers love yet work for our business. Our product teams are cross-functional and durable. We staff our product teams with the skills and team members necessary to come up with effective solutions that are valuable, viable, usable and feasible. While product is accountable for ensuring our solutions are both valuable and viable, engineering is accountable for ensuring the solution is technically feasible.

 

This Senior Manager, Engineering role occupies a pivotal role at the intersection of technology and leadership, contributing to product strategy and owning the delivery of product commitments, while nurturing the growth and productivity of the engineering teams.  Core responsibilities include:

  • Providing technical leadership for multiple engineering teams within the Core Platform product line.
  • Collaborating with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to align product goals and delivery with company objectives and customer needs.
  • Defining and refining engineering processes to promote a more efficient, effective and secure SDLC, including leading code reviews to ensure best practices (eg, style guidelines, accuracy, testability)
  • Setting clear expectations with individuals based on their level and role and aligned to the broader organization's goals, meeting regularly to discuss performance, development, provide feedback and coaching.

What qualities you possess…

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent practical experience
  • Proven experience in leading and scaling cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, including architecture, integration, testing, and validation.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in systems engineering or a related technical domain.
  • Strong understanding of Linux Operating System, including package management and End Of Life migration best practices.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, infrastructure, and large-scale distributed systems.
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience in one or more languages (eg, Python, PHP, Javascript)
  • 5+ years experience in a technical leadership role, including people/team management
  • Facilitates a collaborative and inclusive team culture that values diversity and fosters a sense of belonging and respect
  • Stays abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive innovation within the team and across the organization
  • Experience working with and leading global teams
