ScienceLogic is looking for a Business Development Representative (BDR) in Reston, VA to join our growing team. This is a great opportunity to jump start your career in Software Sales!  Working with our Sales and Marketing lead generation teams you will create outbound prospecting for our enterprise sales teams.  You will learn to skillfully develop new business opportunities via metric driven prospecting efforts and opportunity qualification.

Being a self-starter, assertive and taking initiative are characteristics for success in this role AND as you continue to grow and advance within our Enterprise Sales team! Prior experience with cold calling, inside sales and social media are preferred. You must have strong communication skills combined with a basic understanding of technology.

Our business development team is made of up high energy and self-motivated individuals who are striving to identify and engage high potential prospects in the Enterprise market who are seeking solutions to their IT Operations Management challenges.  Our SL1 product is an AIOps hybrid cloud infrastructure monitoring platform chosen by many government and commercial uses including the International Space Station!

What you’ll be doing…

  • Develop and identify sales opportunities through working with marketing lead generation, prospecting, cold calling, emailing & relationship development with the prospects
  • Learn, understand and effectively communicate ScienceLogic value propositions
  • Demonstrate superior tenacity and objection handling skills while on the phone and email with prospects
  • Develop and maintain relationships with prospects and partners in the IT Operations sector
  • Detailed and consistent use of Salesforce.com with emphasis on lead process and development

To be successful in this role, you will have…

  • BS/BA in Business or related field
  • Effective time management, ability to reach decision-makers and qualify sales opportunities
  • Demonstrable record of business development/cold calling sales success against quota
  • A desire to creatively reach the right people in the right enterprise company
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, Salesforce, LinkedIn, Outreach and other sales enablement tools a plus
  • 1+ year experience in sales prospecting and a desire to grow your career in software sales.
