ScienceLogic Earns TrustRadius’s 2024 Tech Cares Award: Amplifying Social Responsibility and Community Impact

ScienceLogic is thrilled to announce that we have been awarded the TrustRadius Tech Cares Award for the second consecutive year. This recognition stands as a testament to our deep and ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility, volunteerism, diversity, equity, inclusion (DEI), and the well-being of our employees and communities.

Strengthening DEI Initiatives: Empowering Underrepresented Voices

Our dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion is unwavering. ScienceLogic continues to foster a culture of belonging through robust DEI programs, including our thriving Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). Groups such as SciLo Pride, SciLo Vets, PowHER, Black Logicians, HOLA, and our brand-new group Spectrum provide platforms for underrepresented communities within our workforce to connect, share, and advocate.

Spotlight on Our ERGs

  • Spectrum: Our newest ERG, dedicated to neurodiversity and mental health awareness, fostering understanding and support for diverse cognitive styles and mental well-being.
  • SciLo Pride: Supports and celebrates our LGBTQ+ employees and allies, promoting inclusivity and education within the workplace. We celebrated Pride this year by participating in our local festival. Listen to our Sr. Scrum Master, Jude Evans-McCarthy talk about celebrating pride in a recent podcast.
  • SciLo Vets: Focuses on the unique experiences and skills of our veteran employees, facilitating their transition to civilian careers and supporting veteran causes. This year, SciLo Vets, spearheaded by Sr. Customer Success Manager. Denny Katona, raised money through selling “Wear RED” shirts (Remember Everyone Deployed) – the funds went to The Corporal Chad Oligschlaeger Foundation for PTSD.
  • PowHER: Empowers women in technology through mentorship, professional development, and networking opportunities.
  • Black Logicians: Celebrates and supports Black employees, fostering professional growth, cultural awareness, and community engagement.
  • HOLA (Hispanic and Latino/Latina Alliance): Promotes Hispanic and Latino/Latina culture, provides networking and development opportunities, and supports outreach to Hispanic and Latino/Latina communities.

These ERGs are integral to our internal culture, organizing events, workshops, and awareness campaigns throughout the year. We’re proud to share information about them on our company website, demonstrating our commitment to transparency and inclusivity.

Supporting Women in Technology

ScienceLogic’s Women’s Network, PowHER is a sponsor of Women in Technology (WIT), a DC based non-profit organization. WIT’s mission aligns perfectly with our values: to support and empower women at every stage of their journey in tech, from the classroom to the boardroom. Our involvement with WIT includes:

Mentor-Protégé Program: Each year, ScienceLogic sponsors several of its female employees to participate in WIT’s Mentor-Protégé Program, fostering professional growth and leadership skills.

STEM for HER Day: Our employees volunteer their time to run workshops at this hands-on experiential conference-style even for 300+ DC Metro female high school students, inspiring the next generation for women in STEM.

Networking Events: We regularly participate in WIT networking events that create opportunities for women in tech to connect, share experiences, and build valuable relationships.

Employee Well-Being and Development

At ScienceLogic, we believe that a healthy, engaged workforce is crucial to our success and innovation. We are committed to employee well-being through various initiatives.

Wellness Wednesday

This popular program invites employees to take an hour out of their Wednesday to join a HR-led wellness event. These events are designed to promote physical and mental well-being, and include monthly yoga sessions, instructor led fitness classes, virtual cooking demos, mindfulness and mediation workshops, financial wellness seminars, and more.

SciLo Mentor Program

Our internal mentorship program, SciLo Mentor Program, is designed to foster professional growth and knowledge sharing within the company. This 3-month program matches interested mentees with experienced mentors based on goals and subject matter expertise.  The program is focuses on:

Knowledge Transfer: Mentors share their expertise, insights, and experiences with mentees to help them develop specific skills or knowledge in a particular area.

Professional Development: Mentors provide guidance and support to mentees as they navigate their professional growth, offering advice on career advancement, goal setting, and overcoming challenges.

Networking: Mentees and mentors expand their professional network by building a relationship with the individual they are paired with during the program.

Empowering Communities and Championing Compassion

At ScienceLogic, giving back is woven into the fabric of our culture, reflecting our ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility. Our initiatives span from local community engagement to global impact, supporting various causes and organizations.

We partner with SPCA International, a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the safety and well-being of animals. This collaboration aligns with our broader mission to give back to all communities, and we encourage everyone to join us in supporting their incredible work.

Our commitment to building community was exemplified through several impactful events. This past winter, over 40 employees came together in Reston, VA for a charity bike build. In partnership with Best Corporate Events, we assembled and donated 10 bikes to The Y (YMCA) Calomiris, making a tangible difference in our local community.

Extending our reach globally, we organized a “Virtual 5K for a Cause” in 2023. Partnering with “Virtual Run Events,” an organization dedicated to raising money for various charities through running, we supported multiple causes. Twenty-eight ScienceLogic employees proudly participated, contributing to “Soles 4 Souls,” “Feed My Starving Children,” “Alley Cat Allies,” and “Be the Match.”
