Dynamic Discovery
Next-generation auto-discovery provides intelligent automation by matching known agents, devices, applications and systems with best-practice monitoring rules, thresholds, events and alerts. EM7 ships with Dynamic Applications monitoring templates (data collection via SNMP monitoring, SQL queries and XML) for leading manufacturers and devices or create your own custom monitoring templates that are automatically applied in the Dynamic Discovery process.

Centralized Data Repository
EM7 Appliances include an embedded MySQL database, providing a single IT operations management data store - pre-loaded, pre-tested and pre-configured for optimal performance in the appliance and with all EM7 management applications. The data store is self-managed, self-healing and is delivered with sophisticated performance tuning. EM7 does not require additional DBA resources to operate.

Vendor-Agnostic: Integration with Existing Point and Framework Solutions
Out of the box, EM7 is easily integrated with most leading point and framework solutions. This allows you to preserve and even enhance the investment in time and money that you have already made for IT management software and solutions - regardless of specific operating system, hardware manufacturer or application software.

Views, Reports & Executive Dashboards
A customizable Web-based portal gives you access to EM7 anytime, anywhere. Views and access can be customized for a company, department or even a user - making it easy to create executive dashboards that show application or IT process performance at a glance. In addition, hundreds of pre-set reports are included with the EM7 system along with tools that make it simple to create more of your own. Many reports can be downloaded as an Adobe PDF file or as a Microsoft Excel file for further analysis.

Scalability - Configurations
The EM7 solution comes in a variety of configurations – depending on the number of devices to be monitored and how your network is deployed. The solution is easily scalable for monitoring from 25 to thousands of networked devices. For IT organizations that support up to 300 devices, EM7 All-in-One Appliances provide a comprehensive set of monitoring functionality in a single appliance model. For larger network with remotely managed entities or the need for high availability, EM7 offers a Distributed Architecture which distributes core functions of EM7 to dedicated systems and provides a true high-availability solution out-of-the-box.

Security
EM7 includes features for the integrated management of network security, application security, and access control. EM7 can minimize security risks across the infrastructure using its embedded intrusion detection, hardening controls, system-access controls, facility-access controls, and authentication controls.

As a "manager of managers", EM7 leverages existing security systems, such as firewalls and IDS - monitoring and managing them from a centralized console. EM7 also includes a patch management feature which provides detailed reports on software versions, patches, and hot-fixes (both installed and required) for all devices in the network.
